Michael Vinson combines over 25 years of experience in public health, education, organizational development and mentoring to aid organizations, helping them achieve and maintain health and balance. He bases his work in using the Genuine Contact™ program, specializing in using Whole Person Process Facilitation and Open Space Technology. These processes help organizations look beyond the “nuts and bolts” of who they are, examine their stories, and come to terms with the spirit of their organization. Michael takes a holistic approach when working with organizations as they seek to fully live their purpose.

Michael is an ordained minister in the Presbyterian Church (USA). He has taught at the middle school and college level, and he is a teacher of teachers. While living in North Carolina, he worked in the public health arena bringing together community and governmental agencies to address community health needs. He has led professional organizations in planning and implementing their objectives. He has worked with local faith communities and regional governing bodies to help define their mission and purpose, and to negotiate the complex issues related to change within organizations and their mission in the world.

Realizing that not all people learn in the same way, Michael uses a variety of teaching methods in his work. Offering a “hands-on” approach to learning, he stresses the strength of each individual and of the group while assisting organizations in gaining clarity on their purpose, how they intend to lead that purpose and the vision related to that purpose. He believes that each individual is looking for opportunities to follow personal passion and dreams within the organization. He seeks ways to empower people to follow those passions and also create “open and healthy space” within the organization so that these individuals become all that they were meant to be.

Michael received a Master’s Degree in Public Health with an emphasis in Community Health Education from the University of Tennessee. He received his Master of Divinity Degree from Memphis Theological Seminary. Michael is an authorized trainer in the Genuine Contact™ program and also has a Certificate in Spiritual Formation from Columbia Seminary.

In January 2007, Michael Vinson became a Co-Owner of the Genuine Contact Program. This international organization was formed by over 40 Genuine Contact Trainers on 4 different continents who work together to grow and develop the Genuine Contact Program organization.
